* The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Precourse Self-Assessment Test - evaluates a student’s knowledge before the course to evaluate proficiency and determine the need for additional review and practice.
* The PALS Precourse Work - involves a student reviewing course content through online videos before entering the classroom. The video lessons cover multiple medical subjects, and each lesson includes questions to engage the student.
* Bring your HeartCode BLS Part 1 Online Completion certificate.
* Bring proof of Non-Expired PALS CPR Card.

- For healthcare providers working in emergency treatment, intensive care or critical care, and other professionals who may need to respond to a pediatric emergency.
DURATION OF COURSE
- Approximate Class Time: 6-7 hours or less based on the number of students.
- Class times can run longer than shown based on students' ability to learn, understand, and apply course materials.
TARGET AUDIENCE
- Physicians, PA's, Nurse practitioners, Nurses, EMS personnel, and Respiratory Therapists.
- For entry into this class, it is highly recommended that students be proficient with CPR, AED's, ECG interpretation, and pharmacology.
COURSE EMPHASIZES ON
- Importance of basic life support CPR to patient survival.
- Integration of effective basic life support with PALS interventions.
- Importance of effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation.
- The course includes simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation through learning stations where students practice essential skills individually, as part of a team, and as team leader.
- Upon successful completion of this entire course, the students receive an AHA PALS Provider course completion CPR eCard valid for 2 years.

- 1 & 2 Rescuer Child / Infant CPR.
- Automated External Defibrillator.
- Management of Respiratory Emergencies.
- Rhythm disturbances and Electrical Therapy.
- Resuscitation Team Concept.
- Cardiac, Respiratory and Shock Case discussions and simulations.
- Systematic Approach to Pediatric Assessment.

CLASS TIMES
- All classes are Monday through Friday unless filled or unavailable for that day.
- All AHA classes start @ 8:45am sharp.
- Please arrive 15 minutes early and be in your seat for the start of the class.
- Start out early for traveling to ELS destination.
- (No late arrivals allowed in class) - So not to disrupt course.
