COURSE DESCRIPTION

How Does this Course Work?

 

 

  • This program is designed to meet the Skill Practice and Testing requirements of the American Heart Association's Basic Life Support program. 
  • This course is considered a blended learning course and consists of a 3 - part process to certification.

 

  • Part 1 - Heartcode® BLS Online eLearning with American Heart Association.
  • Part 2 - In-person skills practice.
  • Part 3 - In-person skills testing.

  

PREREQUISITES

  • Complete of the AHA Heartcode® BLS Online Part 1 course.
  • Skills Session must be completed within the (60) days from completing of the online course.
  • Students must bring a copy of their AHA Heartcode® BLS Online Part 1 Certificate of Completion with them to their Skills Session or send us the PDF Completion Certificate & for $3.00 we will print it for you.

BLS HANDS ON IN - PERSON SKILLS SESSION - (PART 2 & 3)

(Separate Cost from AHA Online BLS Course)

 

  • Takes 30 to 45 minutes to complete depending on the student.
  • Come fully prepared; the skills test is not designed as a teaching session.
  • Be well proficient on your BLS CPR Skills. During skills testing, students must successfully demonstrate competency performing the following skills:

 

  • 1 & 2 Rescuer Adult / Infant CPR
  • Use of Automated External Defibrillator
  • Bag-mask Ventilation  

 

 

WHAT TO BRING

  • You must print the BLS Part 1 certificate of completion at the end of the online portion.
  • If you send us your paperwork to print prior for your Skills Session, the charge will be $3.00

  • This program is designed to meet the Skill Practice and Testing requirements of the American Heart Association's Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support program. 
  • This course is considered a blended learning course and consists of a 3 - part process to certification.

  • Part 2 - In-person skills practice.

  • For healthcare providers working in emergency treatment, intensive care or critical care, and other professionals who may need to respond to a pediatric emergency.

 

DURATION OF COURSE

  • Approximate Class Time: 6-7 hours or less based on the number of students.

TARGET AUDIENCE 

  • The Heartsaver for K-12 Schools course completion card may be provided by AHA Training Center Coordinators to K-12 school students, faculty, and staff who successfully complete an AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED, Heartsaver CPR AED, or Heartsaver First Aid Course. “Faculty” refers to teachers and coaches; “staff” refers to an employee of a K-12 School or K-12 School system

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

  • This is the Part 2 & 3 Skills Check-Off Portion - (ONLY) for the 2020 HS Online Course after completing Part 1.

How Does this Course Work?

 

 

  • This program is designed to meet the Skill Practice and Testing requirements of the American Heart Association's Heartsaver program. 
  • This course is considered a blended learning course and consists of a 3 - part process to certification.

 

  • Part 1 - Online eLearning and simulation (VIDEO) on any internet-connected computer.
  • Part 2 - In-person skills practice. (Front of AHA Instructor) 
  • Part 3 - In-person skills testing.   (Front of AHA Instructor)

  

PREREQUISITES

  • Please Note: We (ONLY) recognize 2024 AHA Online Completion Certificates.
  • The 2024 AHA Heartsaver First Aid, CPR & AED Part 2, 3 Skills Session must be completed within (60) days of completing the HS - Online Part 1 eLearning Video with AHA. 
  • The 2024 AHA Heartsaver - Online First Aid, CPR & AED Part 1 (VIDEO) is approximately 1.5 up to 3 hours in length.

 

 

ATTENTION:

  • 2024 AHA HS Online - Part 1 Course Videos MUST be viewed by (Students Individually) & NOT as a group. 
  • Everyone MUST have their own Completion Certificate for a Skills Session.

  • If you send us your paperwork to print prior for your Skills Session, the charge will be $3.00

  • It is necessary to show that you completed the online portion.

WHAT TO WEAR

  • If you have physical conditions that might prevent you from participating in the course, please tell one of the instructors when you arrive for the course. 
  • Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will be practicing skills that require working on your hands and knees, bending, standing, and lifting.

  • The instructor will work to accommodate your needs within the stated course completion requirements.
  •  If you are ill, or unforeseen circumstances occur, please notify your instructor 3 hours prior to the start of your class, to reschedule your training and to not incur additional costs.

  • Childcare workers, teachers, foster care workers, camp counselors, youth organizations, and coaches for children’s sports organizations.
  • This course is also ideal for parents, grandparents, babysitters, guardians, and
  • also for educators, teachers, Fitness Trainers/Instructors, Lifeguards, Scuba Diving Schools, Nursing home attendants and for civilians who need to meet their OSHA job requirement.

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

  • This classroom, video-based, Instructor-led course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs an AHA course completion card in First Aid, CPR, and AED to meet job, regulatory or other OSHA requirements.

  • All classes are Monday thru Friday unless filled to capacity or unavailable for that day. Saturdays ONLY if available. 
  • $50.00 Deposit required to secure class date.

This Instructor course teaches the methods needed to effectively instruct students in Basic Life Support classes.

                              

  • A BLS Instructor has the ability to teach any American Heart Association BLS Provider Initial / Renewal Course as well as the Heartsaver First Aid, CPR, and AED courses including Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED for non-medical people.
  • 4 - 5 hours to complete the BLS Instructor Renewal course.

 

Process in becoming an AHA BLS Instructor includes:
